Tarragon is the brainchild of Callum Pickard, a 25-year-old singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Coventry, whom, for the past 4 years has been honing his craft, writing and recording his debut album “I’ve Just Seen A Scene”. Collaborating with an array of incredible virtuoso musicians including Dave Hartley and Robbie Bennett (The War on Drugs), JT Bates (Bon Iver/Taylor Swift) & John Helliwell (Supertramp) to bring his songs to life and has created a debut that deftly deals with maturing into young adulthood and the emotional growing pains & frustration that come with that.

This earned the band support slots for the likes of Billie Marten, Easy Life, Boy Azooga and Japanese punk legends Shonen Knife. With comparisons to the rootsy Americana of Kevin Morby, the wry lyrical content of Andy Shauf and Courtney Barnett, Oh papa are continuing a tradition of intimate and insightful songwriting for a new generation.

Wings Of Desire is simply a mirror to the planetary shift we are all experiencing, to permeate the zeitgeist and remind us all that there is more to living than what we consider tangible. Taking influence from readings such as Noam Chomsky’s work “Manufacturing Consent” - which proposed that media had effectively become system-supportive propaganda – or the lectures of writer and philosopher Alan Watts - who explored the nature of perception, ignorance, awakening and how these inform identity.
