New gen junglist Nia Archives emerged in 2020. The Dj, singer, songwriter and visual artist from Leeds, has been at the forefront of the latest era of jungle and dance music. Her collagist soundscapes have helped bring the sound to a new generation of clubgoers and dance music enthusiasts.
In 2022, Nia won BBC music introducing 'Artist of the year' and an NME award for 'best producer'. Since then, she has been nominated for a Mercury Prize as 'best new comer' and for 'best album' as well as a nomination for a Brit Award for 'rising star'.
She is influenced by jungle music from 1992 to 1996, by the artist Buriel and by the poetry of Maya Angelou. Her mix of jungle and other music genres has led her to work with artists such as Fred again, Jorja Smith, Central Cee and she even supported Beyonce on her Renaissance tour at Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
